A deeply disturbing case has emerged from Barmer district in Rajasthan, where a man who was heavily intoxicated allegedly raped a minor girl. As word of the incident spread, anger erupted across the local community, but police moved quickly and arrested the accused without delay.
According to information received by police, the accused was completely drunk at the time of the incident. Finding the girl alone, he took advantage of the situation and assaulted her. As soon as her family and people living nearby learned what had happened, the area was thrown into shock. The victim's family lost no time and went straight to the local police station to report the incident. Once the complaint was filed, police officials swung into action and treated the matter with utmost seriousness.
Accused Arrested, Case Registered Under POCSO Act
The moment the complaint was registered, multiple police teams were mobilised to track down the accused. Without wasting much time, police cordoned off the area, traced the accused and took him into custody. Taking a firm stand, police have booked the accused under the POCSO Act along with other serious sections of law. It is worth noting that the POCSO Act was specifically enacted to protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation, and it provides for stringent punishment for those found guilty. Police officials have made it clear that no leniency will be shown to anyone involved in such heinous crimes against children, regardless of who they are.

Given the sensitivity of the case, senior police officials are personally monitoring the investigation. Additional Superintendent of Police Nitesh Arya has been given charge of the case, and a thorough probe is being carried out under his supervision. Immediately after the incident came to light, police got the victim medically examined so that the case could be built on a strong legal footing and no procedural gap is left behind.
Forensic Team Collects Evidence, Locals Demand Fast Track Trial
Alongside the police, a team of forensic experts closely examined the crime scene and gathered the necessary evidence. Police also completed the on-site verification process in the presence of the accused, so that the strongest possible case can be presented in court to secure the harshest punishment. Angered by the incident, local residents have demanded that the trial be conducted in a fast track court so that the accused is punished as severely and as quickly as possible, and so that anyone thinking of committing such a crime in future thinks twice.
