In Sanchore town of Rajasthan's Jalore district, a schoolboy has won widespread praise after finding cash worth Rs 1.44 lakh lying on the road and immediately choosing to hand it over to the police rather than keep it for himself.
How the incident unfolded
According to available details, the boy was walking along a road in Sanchore when he spotted the large sum of cash lying unattended. Instead of pocketing the money, which many would have been tempted to do, he walked straight to the local police and handed over the entire Rs 1.44 lakh to an officer on duty. The policeman who received the cash was reportedly posted with the Kalika Patrol Unit of Sanchore police station.
