A shocking daylight crime has sent ripples through the Bindayaka police station jurisdiction in Jaipur, where fraudsters targeted an elderly citizen inside a public transport vehicle. The perpetrators lured an 80-year-old woman into an auto-rickshaw under the pretext of a nominal ten rupee fare before shearing off her gold ornaments and escaping. This brazen incident has triggered panic among local residents while law enforcement teams scour the area to apprehend the culprits.
The Lure at Sinwar Morh Bus Stand
According to available details, the elderly victim was waiting at the Sinwar Morh bus stand to catch transport for Bhambhori, where she intended to visit her sister. An auto-rickshaw carrying rogue elements approached her and offered to drop her off at the destination for a mere ten rupees. Falling for the deceptive offer, the woman boarded the vehicle. As they travelled towards Nimeda, the accused cunningly snipped off the gold jholiya jewelry she was wearing. They subsequently dumped the victim near D-Mart on the roadside before fleeing into anonymity.
Police Launch Investigation and CCTV Scrutiny
Shortly after the incident, once the victim realized her valuables had been stolen, she raised an alarm. Hearing her cries, bystanders gathered at the scene and immediately notified her family members. The relatives rushed to the spot upon receiving the news and proceeded to the Bindayaka police station to lodge an official report. The police have registered a case and initiated a comprehensive review of CCTV camera footage installed along the route to identify and track down the suspects.
