A specialized pediatric department is now set to be developed at Kalyan Hospital in Sikar to provide advanced medical care for children. Under the current blueprint, the existing children's department operating at Janana Hospital is scheduled to be shifted to the new building of Kalyan Hospital. A dedicated 100-bed pediatric wing will be established here, ensuring that newborns and young patients can access comprehensive diagnostic testing, medical treatment, and specialist consultations directly at the district headquarters.
Early Detection Center to Spot Developmental Issues
Along with the new pediatric department, an early detection center will also be launched at the district headquarters. The primary objective of this center is to identify congenital disorders and developmental complications in children at a very early stage. According to officials, timely detection of illnesses or developmental hurdles ensures that a child can receive prompt medical care, necessary therapies, and expert guidance without delay. This proactive approach significantly minimizes the chances of delayed intervention during critical stages of childhood development.
Comprehensive Evaluation of Child Growth and Health Markers
The upcoming early detection center will facilitate screening across multiple vital aspects of a child's growth and development. Postnatal physical activities, developmental milestones, auditory capabilities, speech competencies, and visual functions will be closely monitored alongside other essential health indicators. If any child exhibits signs of deviation from normal developmental patterns or shows symptoms of congenital abnormalities, they will be promptly referred to the appropriate medical specialist for advanced diagnosis and targeted treatment protocols.
Medical College Principal Dr. Ashok Kumar stated that the primary focus of the early detection center will remain on identifying developmental delays and conditions that surface at birth or during early childhood. Families frequently struggle to recognize whether a child is developing appropriately according to their age. Undergoing preliminary assessments under the direct supervision of medical experts will help families understand potential concerns accurately and at the right time.
Relief from Traveling to Major Metropolises for Treatment
At present, numerous families are compelled to travel to Jaipur or other major cities to seek diagnosis and treatment for age-related speech, mobility, hearing, or vision impairments, as well as delays in overall physical and mental development. Undertaking long-distance travel to distant medical facilities consumes considerable time and financial resources. In many instances, delays in identifying the underlying condition also postpone the commencement of crucial therapies and treatments.
Due to the steadily rising volume of young patients at Janana Hospital, patients and their attendants frequently face operational bottlenecks and difficulties. Once the independent 100-bed pediatric department is constructed at Kalyan Hospital with an estimated investment of Rs 15 crore, a much more organized and streamlined treatment framework will be available for pediatric care. According to hospital management, concerted efforts are underway to replicate the advanced pediatric treatment facilities found at JK Lon Hospital in Jaipur.
The establishment of a dedicated pediatric unit and an early detection center at the district headquarters will greatly benefit families residing in Sikar and surrounding regions. From routine check-ups and specialized treatments for infants and children to expert consultations and structured referral mechanisms, the entire healthcare delivery system will function more efficiently under one umbrella.
