A teacher at a government school in Udaipur's Dabok police station area has been accused of molesting a female student, and the allegation triggered outrage among parents and villagers who stormed the school and thrashed the accused. Police had to rush to the campus with a large force to bring the situation under control after tempers flared.
How the Incident Came to Light
According to the information available, the incident took place around three days before it surfaced. The victim, a student at the school, had gone to the accused teacher to get her notebook checked. It is alleged that during this visit, the teacher crossed all limits of decency and misbehaved with her. Frightened by what had happened, the young girl stayed silent out of fear. The matter remained hidden further because the school was closed for its weekly holiday on Saturday and Sunday. It was only on Monday, after returning home from school, that the girl gathered the courage to tell her family what had happened, though with great difficulty.
Parents' Anger Boils Over, Chaos at School
The moment the family learned what had happened to their daughter, they were left in shock. Enraged, the parents rushed to the school along with villagers and surrounded the accused teacher. Within minutes, the atmosphere turned tense, and the crowd beat the teacher badly. The uproar left the school campus in a state of chaos for a considerable time, and panic spread among the other teachers and staff present.
MLA and SDM Rush to the Spot
As soon as word of the incident spread, police from Dabok police station reached the school in strength and managed, with some difficulty, to bring the situation under control. Given how sensitive the case was, Mavli MLA Pushkarlal Dangi and Sub-Divisional Officer (SDM) Ramesh Sirvi also arrived at the school without delay. Both officials assured the victim's family and the assembled villagers that the strictest possible legal action would be taken against the accused, after which the situation gradually eased.
Case Registered, Teacher Removed from School
Acting on a complaint from the victim's family, a case has been registered against the teacher at Dabok police station. Recognising the seriousness of the matter, the school management also acted swiftly and removed the accused teacher from his duties with immediate effect. Police are currently carrying out a fair investigation into the case and are preparing further legal proceedings against the accused. The victim's family has filed a report at the police station demanding the harshest possible punishment for the accused, and the administration has assured that the probe will be impartial and that action will be taken strictly as per law.
