The state of Rajasthan is currently witnessing rapid shifts in its weather patterns. According to the latest update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), significant variations in meteorological activities are expected across various regions of the state in the coming days. Data released by the Jaipur Meteorological Centre indicates that Sriganganagar recorded the highest temperature in the state over the past 24 hours, with the mercury hitting 40.1 degrees Celsius. Simultaneously, relative humidity levels across both eastern and western parts of Rajasthan have been recorded between 30 and 50 percent. Due to shifts in the monsoon trough line and the activation of atmospheric circulation systems, diverse weather conditions are being observed across the state's various divisions. The IMD has projected a strong possibility of light to moderate rainfall in several parts of the state over the next 5 to 6 days.
Dust Storm Warning for Jodhpur and Bikaner Divisions
The IMD has issued a weather warning for the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions in western Rajasthan. There is a high probability of intense dust-laden winds occurring in these areas over the next two to three days. It is estimated that wind speeds could reach 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. These dusty conditions are expected to cause fluctuations in temperatures, which may impact daily life. Locally, conditions favorable for light rain accompanied by thunderstorms are forming in some districts of the Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, and Udaipur divisions, for which the department has advised residents to remain vigilant.
Impact of Heat and Humidity in Jaipur
The state capital, Jaipur, is currently facing challenging weather. The city is experiencing a dual attack of heat and high humidity. According to IMD statistics, the maximum temperature in Jaipur over the past 24 hours was recorded at 35.0 degrees Celsius, which is 3.3 degrees Celsius above the normal range. Nights remain uncomfortable as well, with the minimum temperature hovering around 29.6 degrees Celsius. High moisture content in the air is causing significant humidity for the city's residents. However, forecasts suggest that light rain may occur in the Jaipur division in the coming days, which might provide some relief from the oppressive humidity.
Sriganganagar Records Highest Temperatures
Sriganganagar in western Rajasthan continues to endure harsh summer-like conditions. This region is currently among the hottest areas in the state, with the maximum temperature climbing to 40.1 degrees Celsius. This figure is 1.3 degrees Celsius higher than the seasonal norm. Intense sunshine and hot winds have created heatwave-like conditions during the afternoon hours. The meteorological centre has indicated that dusty wind conditions are expected to persist in this part of the Bikaner division for the next 2 to 3 days.
Relief from Rainfall in Alwar
Eastern Rajasthan's Alwar district has received some respite due to changing weather. In the last 24 hours, 1.0 mm of rainfall was recorded in the district. This precipitation led to a decline in temperature, bringing the maximum reading down to 31.2 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was recorded at 28.0 degrees Celsius. In the coming hours, districts including Alwar, Deeg, and Khairthal-Tijara are likely to experience gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, along with possibilities of light showers. Currently, there is no orange or red alert for heavy rainfall in any district of the state, though light to moderate rainfall activities are expected to continue due to local weather systems.
