Weather authorities have issued warnings for severe downpours across selected regions of Odisha. Hilly and northeastern states are also bracing for intense weather conditions. On Saturday, localized heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Concurrently, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are projected over Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Chhattisgarh. Strong surface winds are anticipated to sweep across parts of eastern and southern India.
Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm Alerts for Western Himalayas, Bihar, and Jharkhand
The western Himalayan region is likely to witness active monsoon spells. On Sunday, heavy precipitation is forecast for Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Regions including Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad face risks of localized thunderstorms and lightning strikes. Chhattisgarh is expected to experience widespread rain, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms on Sunday.
In the eastern plains, Saturday will likely bring fairly widespread rain to Bihar, along with scattered thunderstorms and lightning. On Sunday, rainfall coverage is set to expand across Jharkhand, bringing isolated heavy falls and gusty winds. These weather shifts follow earlier alerts issued by meteorologists on Thursday for multiple states.
Weather Outlook for Delhi and NCR Region
In the National Capital Region, including Delhi and Noida, partly cloudy skies will prevail over both Saturday and Sunday. The weather department expects maximum temperatures in Delhi to hover between 35°C and 37°C, while minimum temperatures are likely to range from 25°C to 27°C. Minimum temperatures across most monitoring stations will remain near normal levels. Surface winds traveling at speeds of around 20 km/h are expected during the evening and night hours, offering mild respite from humidity.
