Pema Khandu Launches Vision 2036 to Train 1 Lakh Youth and Support 10,000 Entrepreneurs in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh has unveiled its Vision 2036 and the Arun MSME Mission, targeting skill development for 100,000 youth, support for 10,000 entrepreneurs, and the transformation of all 10 ITIs into modern skill hubs.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has outlined a comprehensive long-term economic strategy focused on developing a skilled workforce and fostering enterprise among the state's younger population. Titled the Arunachal Human Capital & Economic Transformation Vision 2036, the roadmap is coupled with the newly introduced Arun MSME Mission to generate broad employment opportunities and build global competitiveness across the region.

Targeting 100,000 Skilled Youth and Overseas Opportunities

The Vision 2036 framework establishes several ambitious goals to reshape the state's economic environment. Under this initiative, the state plans to deliver specialized training to 100,000 young individuals while supporting 10,000 entrepreneurs and engaging 10,000 apprentices in practical industry roles.

To provide local talent with international experience, the strategy aims to facilitate 10,000 overseas job placements. Furthermore, the government intends to form 100 industry partnerships to align training programs with corporate demands and upgrade all 10 existing Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into modern skill hubs and centres of excellence.

Empowering Local Businesses Through Arun MSME Mission

In a video message shared on X, Khandu noted that the career goals of young people are evolving from job seeking toward job creation. To support this entrepreneurial mindset, the state government designed the Arun MSME Mission to assist both emerging and established business owners.

Under the MSME mission, 500 micro, small, and medium enterprises will receive structured support every year. Key areas of assistance include business revival, capacity enhancement, establishing market linkages, and providing guidance to access export opportunities. The initiative aims to strengthen local commercial operations and establish a youth-driven economy.

Upgrading ITI Infrastructure and Building Future Skills

Presenting the roadmap up to 2036, the Chief Minister stated that age should not constrain regional development goals and emphasized the necessity of maintaining expansive growth targets. He characterized the initiative as a focused attempt to prepare a future-ready workforce capable of competing on national and global platforms.

Transforming all 10 ITIs into modernized centres of excellence is intended to reinforce the state's vocational education infrastructure. Direct collaboration with industry partners will keep training modules updated according to shifting market trends and technical demands.

"The youth who get skills today will scale the growth of Arunachal tomorrow," Khandu remarked, underscoring the central role of young residents in shaping the state's financial future and expanding its presence in international markets.
