A startling incident unfolded in Rajasthan's Alwar city when a pre-owned two-wheeler erupted into flames moments after its sale was finalised. The mishap took place at a second-hand automobile dealership located at Nangli Circle, one of the busiest and most prominent commercial junctions in the city. The sudden blaze triggered widespread chaos among shopkeepers, buyers, and shoppers present in the crowded market area.
Flames erupt immediately following purchase agreement
The incident began when a customer visited a pre-owned vehicle shop at Nangli Circle to purchase a used scooter. After inspecting the vehicle's condition and negotiating terms, both parties settled on a mutually agreed price. With the transaction completed, preparations were underway to start the vehicle and move it forward. Suddenly, dense smoke started billowing from inside the body panels. Before anyone nearby could react or inspect the problem, intense flames began leaping from the vehicle.
Bystanders struggle as fire spreads rapidly
As the blaze intensified, nearby shopkeepers and witnesses immediately rushed to contain the situation using available resources. People repeatedly tossed buckets of water and sand onto the vehicle in an attempt to douse the fire. However, the presence of volatile fuel in the petrol tank combined with easily flammable plastic components caused the fire to spread uncontrollably. High flames and thick black plumes of smoke rose into the sky, drawing a large crowd of onlookers and disrupting routine movement in the market.
Firefighters extinguish blaze but vehicle completely destroyed
Recognising that the blaze was rapidly getting out of hand, local traders promptly alerted the fire emergency services. Given the central location of the market, a fire engine arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the call. Firefighters immediately launched targeted water jets to quell the blaze. While their rigorous efforts successfully contained the fire and prevented it from spreading to neighbouring vehicles or shops, the scooter was already burnt down to an unusable skeleton of charred metal.
