The Unique Coin Ritual On The Sacred Tree
Inside the temple premises stands an ancient tree that has been layered with heavy coats of vermilion over many years. Visitors coming to the shrine make a wish and attempt to stick a coin onto this thick vermilion surface. According to local belief, if the coin successfully stays fixed to the tree while praying, the special grace of Lord Hanuman is attained. People strongly believe that this ritual helps eradicate severe health issues, chronic illnesses, and various life hardships.
Sage Japali And Historical Significance
According to ancient lore, Sage Japali performed rigorous penance in this very secluded forest during ancient times. Pleased by his profound devotion, Lord Hanuman appeared before him in person at this exact location, which is why the area came to be known as Japali Theertham. Another belief states that after achieving victory in Lanka and returning to Ayodhya, Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, and Lakshmana halted here for a brief period.
Natural Spring And Serene Environment
A natural water pond is also located within the temple complex, and worshippers believe that bathing in or sipping this holy water brings mental peace and cleanses afflictions. Being a part of the Seshachalam Biosphere, the surrounding atmosphere remains exceptionally calm. Reaching the temple requires a trek of about one kilometer of stone steps from the main road, where travelers often spot rare giant Malabar squirrels and other wildlife wandering about. For pilgrims traveling from Hyderabad and Telangana to Tirupati, this spot has transformed into a major hub for spiritual solace and devotion.
