Bhilwara is home to a unique religious site where age-old traditions and deep devotion blend to create truly special moments. At the well-known Pech Area Hanuman Mandir located in Balaji Market, the final Monday of Sawan witnessed an extraordinary display of faith and spirituality. The temple marked the occasion by performing a grand Sahasradhara Mahabhishek of Lord Shiva utilizing a staggering 21,000 litres of sacred Gangajal. Throughout the sacred rituals, the entire temple grounds resonated loudly with resounding chants of Har Har Mahadev and Bam Bam Bole.
Gangajal Brought in Large Containers from Haridwar and Garhmukteshwar
Ashutosh Sharma, the chief priest of the temple, explained that organizing this grand religious event is a cherished tradition observed every single year during the holy month of Sawan. To fulfill the requirements of this special Mahabhishek, 21,000 litres of pure Gangajal were transported all the way to Bhilwara from Haridwar and Garhmukteshwar in Uttar Pradesh using large containers. As Vedic hymns echoed through the halls and the continuous streams of Gangajal were poured over Lord Shiva according to strict traditional rites, the enthusiasm among the gathered devotees reached its absolute peak.
Grand Maha Aarti and Floral Decorations Captivate Devotees
Prior to the commencement of the primary Mahabhishek rituals, a grand Maha Aarti was performed for Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva inside the temple sanctum. During this celebratory moment, devotees were seen dancing joyfully to the rhythmic beats of drums and traditional brass bands. The entire temple premises were elaborately decorated using a diverse array of fragrant domestic and exotic flowers alongside bright, colorful lighting arrangements. From the early hours of the morning, thousands of worshippers from Bhilwara and nearby rural areas arrived at the temple to witness these divine sights and earn the spiritual merits of the sacred ritual.
Holy Gangajal Distributed as Prasad to Households
Once the grand Mahabhishek concluded successfully, the temple committee distributed the remaining holy Gangajal among all the attending devotees as prasad. Worshippers accepted the sacred water with immense reverence and devotion, carrying portions of it back to their respective homes. Throughout the entire day, a massive wave of faith continued to surge through the Bhilwara temple as people arrived continuously to witness and participate in this unique, long-standing annual tradition.
