Ramsurat, a resident of Robertsganj, has undertaken a sacred Kanwar Yatra alongside his 16-year-old son to fulfill a pledge made 16 years ago. Carrying holy water along the route through Mirzapur, the family is heading toward the renowned Shivdwar temple in Sonbhadra to perform anointment on the unified idol of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. A Miraculous Vow Made 16 Years Ago
The motive behind this special pilgrimage traces back to a critical juncture 16 years ago when Ramsurat's pregnant wife faced severe medical complications. Doctors treating her had given up hope regarding her and the unborn child's survival. In that moment of distress, Ramsurat visited the historic Shivdwar shrine and prayed fervently before Lord Shiva. He pledged that if both his wife and unborn child survived safely, he would bring his child on a Kanwar Yatra to the temple to offer holy water once the child grew up.

By divine grace, both mother and child pulled through safely and stayed in good health. As time passed, the child grew into a healthy 16-year-old boy. Honoring his long-standing commitment, Ramsurat set out on the pilgrimage accompanied by his 16-year-old son and the entire family. Ramsurat expressed that watching his son walk alongside him with the Kanwar brings immense satisfaction.
