A deeply inspiring display of devotion and endurance was witnessed on the streets of Falna town, located in the Pali district of Rajasthan, during the auspicious month of Sawan. A massive Kanwar Yatra drew hundreds of local devotees, but the highlight of the entire gathering was the participation of more than 100 young children. Braving severe summer heat and walking along challenging asphalt roads, these young pilgrims successfully completed a 12-kilometer trek on foot to perform the sacred jalabhishek ritual, earning praise from the entire community.
Route Details from Gangveri to Khareshwar Mahadev Temple
The spiritual journey commenced at the Gangveri Mahadev Temple in Falna, where the pilgrims collected holy water to carry on their shoulders. Moving in an organized procession along the main thoroughfares, the Yatra traversed through key landmarks including the Toll Naka, Nimbeshwar Mahadev Temple, Nath Ji Ki Dhuni, and the Sanderao Main Road. The sacred procession then passed by the Falna Police Station, Bank of Baroda, and the Kali Murti intersection before arriving at its final destination, the Khareshwar Mahadev Temple. Upon arrival, the young devotees and adult pilgrims reverently poured holy water, offered belpatra leaves, and presented fresh flowers on the Shivling, offering prayers for peace, health, and prosperity across the region.
Festive Town Decorations and Flower Showers via JCBs
The entire town of Falna wore a festive and devotional look, with key streets decorated with vibrant banners and traditional saffron flags. Along the 12-kilometer stretch, local philanthropists and community members established several refreshment stalls, providing clean drinking water, snacks, and fruits for the walking pilgrims. As the young kanwariyas marched forward, residents gathered on building rooftops to shower flowers upon them. At multiple prominent locations, JCB excavators were specially arranged to shower large quantities of flower petals onto the passing procession, turning the pilgrimage into a memorable public celebration.
