Diplomatic efforts between India and China have gained fresh momentum as National Security Advisor Ajit Doval arrives in Beijing on Monday for high level discussions regarding the prolonged boundary dispute. Doval will participate in the 25th round of the Special Representative level dialogue alongside Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The bilateral negotiations are scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
Focusing on Peace Along the 3,488 KM Boundary
The core objective of this crucial dialogue centers on reducing military friction along the 3,488 kilometer long Line of Actual Control. Both delegations aim to address long standing border issues and establish a sustainable diplomatic roadmap to prevent further standoffs across sensitive patrolling sectors.
Two Decades of the Special Representative Mechanism
First established in 2003, the Special Representative mechanism was created to provide a dedicated framework for resolving complex border disputes comprehensively. Operating as lead negotiators for their respective governments, Ajit Doval and Wang Yi head these strategic talks, which remain under close observation by regional and international observers.
