During that time, his personal health was in a severely declining state, leaving his family members constantly worried and anxious about his well-being. His father was a deeply religious man who spent considerable time in prayers and worship. It was during this difficult phase that his father experienced a vivid divine vision in his sleep, catching a glimpse of the goddess.
A Dream That Inspired a Major Land Donation
According to Ram Tilak Pandey, the goddess instructed his father in that dream to construct a temple right on that very spot. Treating the vision as a divine command rather than a mere coincidence, the family made the firm decision to proceed with building a place of worship. Demonstrating immense generosity, his father chose to donate approximately 10 biswas of his own land to establish the temple. The plot where the shrine now stands is positioned very close to the highway, making its commercial value and market price quite substantial at the time. Despite the high monetary value of the property, his father completely disregarded financial gains and willingly transferred the land ownership in the name of the temple for the greater welfare of the public. The family firmly believed that building a temple at this location would grant countless people the blessed opportunity to worship and seek divine grace.
From a Single Pindi to a Renowned Shrine
Ram Tilak Pandey noted that the construction of the temple did not happen all at once. In the beginning, the sacred process started simply by installing an earthen or stone pindi of the goddess and initiating daily prayers. As time progressed, support poured in gradually from local residents and passing devotees, enabling the progressive construction of the temple structure. Today, this location has carved out a distinct identity among worshippers under the revered banner of the Maa Bageshwari Devi Temple.
The festival of Navratri holds exceptional significance at this shrine. Throughout the duration of Navratri, massive crowds of devotees arrive to pay their respects.
