In a remarkable display of athletic prowess, Priyanshi Prajapat, a world-class wrestler from Ujjain, secured a gold medal in the 50 kg weight category at the U-23 Senior National Wrestling Championship held in Rohtak, Haryana. The event, which took place from July 10 to July 12, saw participants from across the country. Priyanshi stood out among top-tier female wrestlers, defeating formidable opponents from states including Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan. This victory is particularly significant as it marks the first gold medal for Madhya Pradesh in this tournament.
Celebrations and Recognition
The competition saw a delegation of eight female wrestlers from Madhya Pradesh. Following the news of her success, celebrations erupted in Ujjain. Her father and coach, Mukesh पहलवान, received numerous congratulatory messages from athletes, sports enthusiasts, and well-wishers. During the medal ceremony, former president of the Wrestling Federation of India, Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, awarded the gold medal to Priyanshi and extended his best wishes for her future career.
Upcoming International Challenge
With her national success secured, Priyanshi Prajapat is now preparing for her next international outing. She is scheduled to depart on July 14 to participate in the World Ranking Series organized by the Wrestling Federation of India in Hungary. She will represent the Indian contingent at the event, which runs from July 14 to July 21.

Priyanshi is no stranger to success on the global stage. She previously earned a silver medal for India at the World Wrestling Ranking competition held in Tirana, Albania. In recognition of her stellar performance, she has been honored with the prestigious Eklavya Award by the Madhya Pradesh government. Additionally, she currently serves as a member of the female athlete committee for the Wrestling Federation of India.
