The Aam Aadmi Party has extended support to seven-year-old Ragini, a young girl from Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh who refused to let physical disability hinder her education. Living in Ranipur village within the Dighada Gram Sabha of Maniyar block, Ragini has confronted severe adversity from early infancy. Upon learning of her story, Rajya Sabha MP and AAP UP in-charge Sanjay Singh directed a delegation of party representatives to visit her residence, where they provided immediate material and financial relief.
A Seven-Year-Old's Courage and Daily Struggle
When Ragini was merely six months old, a tragic accident claimed one of her legs. Despite this severe loss, the child maintained her spirit and determination to pursue schooling. To reach her primary school located 400 meters away from her home, Ragini hopped on her single leg every day. When news of her arduous journey reached AAP leadership, MP Sanjay Singh stated that her physical limitation would not be allowed to stand as an obstacle to her educational aspirations.
Immediate Financial and Material Support Delivered
Following instructions from the leadership, party representatives established contact with the family. On Wednesday, AAP state spokesperson Sarvesh Mishra, Ballia district president Pradeep Yadav, and general secretary Anjani Tiwari arrived at Ragini's residence in Ranipur village. They offered comfort to the family and distributed immediate relief supplies. To ease her mobility to school, Ragini received a wheelchair and crutches, along with notebooks and pens for her studies. Additionally, the representatives presented the family with ₹25,000 in cash assistance.
Personal Video Call from MP Sanjay Singh and Long-Term Promises
During the relief distribution, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh connected directly with Ragini and her family members via phone and video call. He inquired about her well-being, encouraged her to focus on her education, and offered blessings for her future endeavors. The MP assured the family that the party would continue offering comprehensive support whenever needed. Expressing deep appreciation for the gesture, Ragini's family thanked MP Sanjay Singh and the Aam Aadmi Party for their timely intervention.
Comprehensive Plan for Artificial Limb at ALIMCO Kanpur
MP Sanjay Singh announced that the wheelchair and monetary aid represent only initial measures. The primary objective remains enabling Ragini to gain physical independence. To achieve this, the Aam Aadmi Party will soon arrange for an artificial leg to be fitted. Party workers will accompany Ragini to the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) in Kanpur. Following evaluation by medical specialists at ALIMCO, an artificial leg will be fitted so that she can walk independently without reliance on external support.

State spokesperson Sarvesh Mishra highlighted the vision of leadership during the visit, pointing out that party members remain dedicated to social service across Uttar Pradesh.
