A new skill development initiative has been launched in Amethi district to help unemployed youth and women achieve financial independence through self-employment. Baroda Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) is offering a fully funded training program focused on soft toy manufacturing. Designed to enhance practical skills and business capabilities, this project aims to empower local residents to build their own small enterprises, eliminating the need to search for traditional jobs or rely on external financial aid.
Comprehensive 15 Day Soft Toy Manufacturing Program
The specialized course conducted by RSETI spans a duration of 15 days and is provided completely free of charge to all selected participants. The curriculum covers every stage of soft toy production, equipping trainees with hands-on technical skills. Participants will learn precise fabric cutting, stitching techniques, stuffing, toy finishing, and professional packaging. Beyond manufacturing, the training incorporates business management modules that teach effective marketing techniques, market linkage, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure new entrepreneurs can calculate profit margins and avoid operational losses. Mahima Singh, a faculty member at the institute, stated that RSETI regularly organizes skill development workshops to upgrade local talent, and this session focuses on giving creative individuals a structured entry into the toy industry.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Guidelines
The training program is open to unemployed individuals aged between 18 and 40 years, with a strong focus on encouraging women entrepreneurs. Admission to the course is conducted on a first come, first served basis until all available slots are filled. Candidates seeking enrolment must submit a completed application alongside mandatory verification documents. Required paperwork includes copies of the applicant's Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank passbook, recent passport size photographs, and an active mobile number. Interested candidates are advised to apply early to secure their enrollment.

Demonstrating the practical value of this program, a woman from the Musafirkhana region who previously completed training at RSETI has successfully established her own soft toy venture. Reflecting on her journey, she shared that the hands-on instruction gave her both the technical foundation and commercial confidence required to start an independent business. Today, her unit provides her with a steady source of income and financial security. She highlighted that such practical skill programs are exceptionally beneficial for women seeking to achieve self-reliance and build sustainable livelihoods from their home regions.
