A 14-year-old schoolboy from a modest farming household in Rajasthan's Churu district has captured global attention on social media. Moti, a seventh-grade student at the government school in Chariyan village near Sujangarh, has turned an internet video into an extraordinary success story. A single comedy reel posted on his Instagram handle has registered more than 18.3 crore views, transforming the young boy into an online sensation widely known as the 'Alien Star'.
Turning Childhood Taunts into a Creative Identity
Moti was born with distinct hair loss markings around both of his eyes, locally referred to as 'bhanwari'. These natural facial patterns gave his face an unusual appearance resembling pop-culture depictions of an alien. During his earlier childhood years, some children would mock him because of these unique marks. Rather than letting the teasing discourage him, Moti decided roughly one year ago to embrace his distinctive appearance as his trademark identity. He created an Instagram page under the handle 'Alien Star' and began sharing humorous reels. For the past 7 to 8 months, he has been consistently publishing comedic content.
The Independence Day Reel That Triggered Viral Fame
The specific video that brought Moti overnight fame revolves around children's fondness for traditional sweets on Independence Day. In the sketch, an adult announces to school children that whoever arrives at the August 15 event wearing the most stylish outfit will receive two sweets. On the following day, while all other children arrive in their standard school uniforms, Moti makes a grand entrance dressed in a traditional royal turban (safa) and an elegant sherwani. He then approaches the person distributing sweets with an open empty bag, silently requesting his reward. This humorous performance resonated strongly with millions of viewers, propelling the video across national and international online communities.
Inflow of Content Creators and Pride in the Village
Following his massive viral success, popular social media influencers and content creators have been traveling directly to Chariyan village to interview the young creator. Moti was born on March 10, 2012, to his parents Nemaram, a farmer, and Munidevi. Despite coming from a humble agricultural background, Moti maintains a strong academic record at his local government school and is known among classmates for his cheerful demeanor. Outside of his schoolwork and video creation, he is an enthusiastic cricket player.
Aspiring for a Career in Acting and Comedy
Looking ahead, Moti aspires to build a professional career in acting and comedy. One of his signature dialogues has gained widespread popularity across social platforms, in which he humorously says,
"Some people say you won't be able to do anything, some people say you will go very far, so should I start..."Moti credits the immense public love and encouragement for giving him the motivation to keep entertaining audiences through his creative videos.
Putting Chariyan Village on the Map
Moti's rising profile has given his hometown a brand-new reputation, with people now referring to Chariyan as the 'village of the Alien Star'. Expressing pride in Moti's achievements, Ramniwas Tetarwal, a retired Naib Subedar from neighboring Kolasar village, highlighted that the young boy's success brings honor to the entire region. He emphasized that rural communities are filled with talented individuals who only require an appropriate platform to showcase their potential.
