Mandatory Criteria for Technical Entry Scheme
For students aiming to become commissioned officers through the Technical Entry Scheme (TES), specific academic qualifications are of paramount importance. A candidate must have completed their 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and must have secured more than 85 percent marks. Furthermore, it is mandatory to achieve a score of above 85 percentile in the JEE Mains examination. After satisfying these requirements, candidates must upload their credentials to the official Indian Army website to become eligible for the interview phase.
The Rigorous SSB Interview and Training Journey
The selection process proceeds with a demanding five-day SSB (SSB) interview, which serves as a grueling test of both mental and physical endurance. Following this, selection is finalized based on medical examinations and the preparation of a final merit list. Shashi Ranjan Suman detailed that his initial training took place at OTA Gaya. This was followed by three years of technical training at CTW Secunderabad, and finally, one month of POP practice in Dehradun, after which he received his commission.

To motivate the youth, he shared that he was screened out three times before eventually reaching this milestone, yet he refused to give up. He asserts that if a student faces failure once, they should not be discouraged or afraid to try again. Instead, they must continue to move forward with dedication, perseverance, and persistent hard work.
