Sanju Devi, a resident of Bibiyapara village under the Kaisarganj development block, has established a remarkable precedent by overcoming deep-rooted rural prejudices. There was a time when she possessed absolutely no knowledge regarding organic agricultural formulations, but today, she successfully spearheads a Bio Research Center. Her journey is a testament to how unwavering resolve can turn immense challenges into historic milestones of community development.
Transforming Social Opposition into a Source of Strength
When Sanju Devi initially decided to venture into this uncharted territory, her primary obstacle was not financial or technical; rather, it was the rigid mindset of her local community. As she began collaborating with an organization named TCL to understand the technicalities of organic products and attempted to mobilize other rural women, she faced intense backlash. Villagers frequently mocked her and the young women who joined her, passing disparaging remarks about daughters-in-law and young girls working outside the boundaries of their homes. Skeptics asserted that such endeavors were far beyond their capabilities. Instead of letting these demoralizing comments break her spirit, Sanju Devi and her companions chose to embrace the criticism as motivation. They refused to retreat, transforming the social opposition into fuel for their ambition.
Structuring a Collaborative and Organized Enterprise
The initiative gained significant momentum under the expert guidance of TCL's representative, referred to as FC sir. With his structured mentorship, Sanju Devi brought together 12 economically disadvantaged women from the village to form a cohesive self-help collective. To ensure the systematic and transparent functioning of their Bio Research Center (BRC), they established a formal administrative structure. Three critical leadership positions were created: President, Secretary, and Treasurer. These officials meticulously manage banking transactions, maintain official ledgers, and oversee all financial operations. Responsibilities among the remaining members are divided strategically based on their individual skills. This disciplined division of labor has become the cornerstone of their operational success, enabling them to collectively manufacture high-quality organic farming inputs.
The Three Pillar Organic Formulations Redefining Agriculture
The Bio Research Center specializes in manufacturing three key organic products designed to enhance crop yields and restore soil health. The first is 'Paudh Poshak' (Plant Nourisher), which accelerates vegetative growth and ensures that crop grains are robust, lustrous, and of superior quality. The second formulation is 'Fasal Rakshak' (Crop Protector), an effective organic solution that shields crops from harmful pests and prevents leaf-curl diseases. The third essential product is 'Mrida Shakti' (Soil Strength), which requires a specific application technique. Farmers are instructed to mix 1 kilogram of Mrida Shakti with 15 kilograms of organic manure, dry it under a shaded area, and then scatter it across their fields. This formulation retains soil moisture for extended periods, significantly reducing the frequency of irrigation and conserving water resources.
