Beyond its scenic viewpoints, Rajasthan's sole hill station of Mount Abu offers vibrant shopping hubs that draw steady crowds of holidaymakers. Located along Sunset Point Road near the famous Nakki Lake in Sirohi district, the Tibet Market has evolved into a bustling center known for cozy winter apparel, cultural handicrafts, and local street food. As twilight approaches, the market experiences heavy foot traffic from residents and visitors across the country who combine evening strolls in the cool mountain climate with leisurely shopping.
Extensive Winter Collections Across Price Points
The primary attraction of this market remains its extensive selection of winter garments. Throughout the colder months, shops display an array of jackets, sweaters, shawls, mufflers, scarves, and specially tailored woollens for children in varied designs. Because vendors cater to different spending levels, shoppers find budget-friendly choices alongside premium items. As temperatures cool down after dusk, many visitors immediately head to these stalls to purchase warm clothing. A tourist from Surat in Gujarat, Nirav Singh, stated that during repeat family visits to Mount Abu, shopping at the market remains a set plan because one discovers unique merchandise alongside regular seasonal clothes.
Cultural Crafts, Home Accents, Food and Horse Rides
Apart from clothing, the market offers handcrafted ornaments reflecting Tibetan artistic heritage. Several specialty stalls feature distinct home decor items, enticing travelers with intricate patterns, vivid colors, and unique aesthetic designs. Culinary enthusiasts can also sample various street food items while exploring the lanes. Furthermore, the primary horse stand for recreational rides is stationed right beside this commercial strip, allowing travelers to enjoy horseback tours around the scenic surroundings.
Over 30 Established Shops and Seamless Walkway from Nakki Lake
A local tourist guide, Prakash Kumar, pointed out that the market represents a convenient shopping destination for people exploring the Nakki Lake perimeter. Its close proximity makes it an easy walk straight from the lake's banks. Over 30 shops operate within the market, run by Tibetan traders and vendors from nearby regions who have maintained their businesses here for years. Right opposite this open bazaar stands the Abu Shopping Mall, providing access to additional retail options including garments and jewelry under one roof.
