The animals were then released straight onto the officer's work table, leaving the bureaucrat visibly unsettled as the scene unfolded. Public Anger Over Administrative Inertia
The locality had seen an alarming spike in incidents where stray dogs chased and bit residents over recent weeks. According to community members, repeated appeals and formal complaints had been submitted to civic authorities urging prompt intervention, but no meaningful remedial measures were enforced. Beyond setting the dogs loose on the desk, the group draped a garland made of currency notes over the official's chair to signal their condemnation. Vikram Randhave accused the municipal administration of remaining completely indifferent while street animals posed direct threats to public lives. He alleged that while citizens endured constant panic, the chief officer remained occupied primarily with bureaucratic tendering routines instead of resolving ground issues.
Ultimatum Ahead of Upcoming Festive Season
The delegation issued an explicit deadline to the municipal body demanding swift corrective measures. With major public festivities including Ganeshotsav and Navratri approaching, the protesters asserted that systematic animal control and relocation arrangements must be executed immediately. They cautioned that if the civic administration fails to secure the public thoroughfares prior to these festival celebrations, intensified agitations will follow across the area.
