Tipra Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma has strongly demanded that Delhi-based content creator Amir Shokeen, accused of racially abusing a youth from Tripura, be transferred to the state to ensure a fair and thorough investigation. The purported video features remarks that have drawn widespread condemnation and outrage across the entire Northeast region.
Call for Local Investigation
Describing the remarks as a direct insult to the residents of Tripura, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma emphasized that the legal proceedings and probe must be conducted within the state since an FIR has already been formally registered there. He urged law enforcement to bring the accused to Tripura so that he could personally understand the rich historical background and the deep sentiments of the local population.
Government and Ministerial Action
The incident has triggered sharp reactions across political lines, prompting Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha to direct the state police chief to closely coordinate with Delhi Police. Leaders from various parties have united in demanding strict measures against the creator. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also condemned the alleged abuse, stating that the accused will face severe consequences despite any initial delays in filing the formal complaint.
