Television actress Akanksha Chamola is once again in the spotlight over her personal life. Having earlier described herself as bisexual, she has now made a fresh statement that has taken fans by surprise. On the reality show Lock Up: Sach Ya Saza, she said that she has become completely asexual and admitted that fear has crept into her mind when it comes to relationships. She revealed that she currently has no desire for any kind of physical relationship, whether with a man or a woman. The disclosure comes at a time when Akanksha is going through divorce proceedings, which is why her comments have quickly become a major talking point on social media.
A Candid Conversation With Laila
In a recent episode of Lock Up, Akanksha was seen in conversation with contestant Varun Yadav, who is known on the show as Laila. During their chat, Laila asked Akanksha whether she thinks about getting married again in the future or whether she would prefer to stay single forever. Responding candidly, Akanksha said that a sense of fear has now settled into her mind when it comes to relationships, reflecting how the divorce process appears to have shaken her sense of security and comfort around commitment.
Her Views on Sexuality
The same conversation soon turned to the subject of sexuality. Sharing her perspective, Akanksha said that, in her view, a person's sexuality can change across different phases of life and does not always remain fixed the way people assume. She explained that she is currently going through a phase in her life where she feels no desire for any kind of physical relationship. She was clear that this applies equally to men and women, saying she does not wish to be physically involved with either. Akanksha described this phase of her life as being asexual, explaining that for her, being asexual right now means a complete absence of the desire to be physically intimate with anyone at all. She summed it up plainly by saying, I have become completely asexual.
Why She Separated From Gaurav Khanna
It is worth noting that Akanksha had already made a significant disclosure in the premiere episode of Lock Up: Sach Ya Saza, revealing that she and Gaurav Khanna have been living separately for close to a year. She said the two had mutually decided to end their marriage, adding that there is no bitterness between them, but that they had grown apart in their thinking about the future, which eventually led to the decision to separate.
Gaurav Khanna's Response
Following Akanksha's announcement, Gaurav Khanna also reacted publicly to the news. Appearing as a guest on the show, he extended his support to Akanksha and pointed out that the two are still legally husband and wife. He also made it clear that even though they are separating, he would not tolerate any bitterness or negative talk directed at Akanksha from anyone.
No Plans to Remarry, and Her Career So Far
Akanksha had earlier made it clear that she does not intend to remarry once the divorce is finalised. She had said, I don't think I will remarry, for the first time in my life I am going to live alone, neither under my parents' roof nor under my husband's roof. Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola had first met during an audition, and the couple got married on 24 November 2016 in Kanpur. Akanksha has appeared in several television shows over the years, including Santoshi Maa, Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Crime Patrol.
