Bigg Boss 19 contestant and businesswoman Tanya Mittal is once again in the news, but this time not because of a television episode. A journalist called her a cheap copy of Shalini Passi during a podcast conversation, and Tanya Mittal has hit back hard on social media, calling the remark the height of shamelessness.
What Sparked The Controversy
Shalini Passi recently appeared on a podcast, where a journalist asked her about a cheap copy of hers in the market named Tanya Mittal, and wanted to know her response to it. When this comment reached Tanya Mittal, she was furious.
Tanya's Sharp Reply On Instagram
Tanya Mittal responded with a long note on her Instagram story. She wrote that calling one woman a cheap copy of another is extremely distasteful and cannot be called journalism in any sense, calling it instead the height of shamelessness. She questioned how any media platform could talk about a woman in such a manner. According to her, such remarks are not just insulting but also reflect a mindset that judges women on their lifestyle and financial status instead of trying to understand their personal lives. She made it clear that she is not Shalini Passi, that her name is Tanya Mittal, and that she has her own separate identity. She added that some people simply cannot digest how a girl can succeed on her own, and instead of appreciating her work, people start commenting on her character and lifestyle, which is completely wrong.
A Ten Year Long Struggle
In her post, Tanya Mittal also shared her journey. She said it has taken her more than ten years to reach where she stands today. Many years ago, she dropped out of her studies simply because she did not want to get married at a young age. She went against her family's wishes to chase her dreams. She said the path was extremely difficult, but she never gave up.
From Selling Greeting Cards To Packing Sarees
Tanya said she has done very small jobs in her life. She sold greeting cards and packed sarees with her own hands. She also said that when she made videos to promote temples and culture across the country, instead of supporting her, people mocked her and troubled her a lot.
Trolling And Her Bigg Boss Journey
Tanya said people trolled her so much on social media that she lost several big opportunities and projects. Even when she entered the Bigg Boss house, she felt like the entire country had turned against her. Her rich lifestyle was constantly questioned and she was heavily criticised. She said nobody stood by her during that difficult phase. Despite this, Tanya did not give up and made it to the top four contestants of Bigg Boss 19.
Proud Of Her Own Hard Work
Tanya Mittal said with pride that everything she has today is the result of her own hard work. She clarified that neither her father's or brother's money nor any boyfriend's help went into her success. She fought alone to build her place and does not like being called anyone's copy.
Set To Enter Ekta Kapoor's Project
Despite facing heavy trolling inside the Bigg Boss house, Tanya Mittal's talent caught the attention of Ekta Kapoor, who has signed her for one of her projects. Tanya is soon set to step into acting through Ekta Kapoor's show, a development that has left her fans excited.
