A strict disciplinary crackdown has hit the police department in Uttar Pradesh over administrative laxity in handling public grievances. State DGP Rajiv Krishna has taken decisive action by suspending ten station house officers across nine districts. This sweeping directive from police headquarters has sent a strong message down the ranks regarding accountability and prompt service delivery.
Districts and Police Stations Affected by the Suspension
The officers facing immediate suspension include the in-charge of the Babu Banarasi Das police station in Lucknow. In addition, SHO-rank officers posted in Kheri, Unnao, Etah, Agra, Pratapgarh, Badaun, Bijnor, and Mathura have also been suspended. These actions stem directly from proven apathy and delays in resolving complaints lodged by ordinary citizens at the local station level.
Strict Timeline Set for Inquiry Reports
Following the suspensions, the top police leadership has directed the concerned district police authorities to conduct thorough evaluations. The DGP office has officially demanded a comprehensive report from all affected districts within a span of three days. This swift intervention underscores the administration's zero-tolerance policy toward administrative negligence and poor grievance redressal.
