A horrifying incident born out of an old enmity has shaken the state of Uttar Pradesh and sent shockwaves through Kanpur, exposing chilling brutality on the streets. A 37-year-old man returning home after watching the Dussehra fair became the target of a brutal assault. According to allegations, he was first hit by a car, beaten up, and then forcefully placed on the roof of the vehicle. In a display of extreme cruelty, both his hands were reportedly shoved into the car windows, the glasses were rolled up and locked, and the vehicle was driven at high speed for about 1.5 kilometers. Afterward, he was dumped onto the road near the Ashwani Trading Company in Rajendra Nagar. The accused allegedly drove the car over him before fleeing the spot. Taken to a hospital in critical condition, the victim was declared dead by doctors. Multiple CCTV footage clips of the incident have surfaced. On Wednesday, when the body reached home, family members created an uproar and accused the police of apathy and negligence in taking action.
Returning From Dussehra Fair, Biru Was Waylaid and Assaulted
According to available details, Biru Singh Bhadoria, a resident of Arra under the Hanumant Vihar police station area in Kanpur South, worked as a salesman for a food products manufacturing company. His family includes his wife Reena, two daughters Sivi and Ishani, son Viraj, father Ram Shankar Singh, and elder brother Kuldeep Singh Bhadoria. Biru's tragic death has shattered the family, bringing an immense mountain of grief upon them. Relatives stated that a few days ago, Biru had a dispute with Rajveer and Mewalal, residents of Khadepur Nayi Basti. It is alleged that an active rivalry had been ongoing between the two parties ever since that dispute. On Tuesday night, while Biru was returning home from the Dussehra fair, Mewalal reportedly arrived there in a car. Three other people, including Rajveer, were said to be inside the vehicle. The occupants of the car allegedly intercepted Biru on the way and started beating him up. When Biru tried to escape, he was allegedly hit with the car. What the accused did next became the most horrifying aspect of the entire case.
Hands Jammed in Windows, Car Drove 1.5 Kilometers With Victim on Roof
It is alleged that after hitting him, Biru was placed onto the roof of the car. Both his hands were pushed inside the front windows and the glass panes were locked. The car was then driven away at a high speed. Biru remained trapped on the roof while the car occupants drove him around the lanes of the locality. After driving the car for nearly 1.5 kilometers, the accused suddenly rolled down the windows and threw Biru onto the road near the Ashwani Trading Company in Rajendra Nagar. Relatives alleged that the car was subsequently driven over him. The violent attack left multiple injuries across Biru's body, and his fingers were severely crushed due to being trapped inside the window frames.
Passerby Recognized Victim and Informed Family, Died at Hospital
Following the incident, Devendra Singh Chauhan, who happened to pass by, recognized Biru and informed his family members. The family rushed to the spot and hurriedly took him to a private hospital. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to Hallet Hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him dead. The news of Biru's death plunged the family into deep mourning. His wife Reena and children broke down inconsolably. On Wednesday, relatives brought the body home, where they protested and demanded strict action against the accused while questioning the functioning of the local police.
Incident Captured on More Than Two Dozen CCTV Cameras
CCTV footage has emerged as a crucial piece of evidence in this case. According to reports, visuals related to the incident were recorded by more than two dozen cameras. The footage reportedly shows the speeding car and the victim trapped on its roof. Despite such a grave incident and available CCTV footage, the family alleged that the police did not show promptness in registering an FIR based on their complaint in the initial stages. They claimed that instead of arresting the accused, the matter was taken lightly. Relatives alleged that the station house officer expressed a suspicion that the car driver might not have known the man was on the roof. This statement angered the family, who demanded accountability from the police. However, independent confirmation of the allegations regarding police roles and the current status of the FIR is necessary. Family members stated that despite the incident being a clear murder, the police initially registered an FIR for an accident. Although relatives had mentioned an accident in their initial written application, they claimed that when they learned it was murder, they spoke to the station house officer, but instead of investigating, an accident FIR was recorded.
Car and Mobile Locations Traced to Jahanabad in Fatehpur
According to reports, the car used in the crime belongs to Mewalal, and he is accused of being inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. When the police traced the car's registration number and the mobile phone locations of the suspects, the signal pointed towards Jahanabad in Fatehpur district. Currently, the CCTV footage, car location, and family statements are vital for the investigation. The family is demanding the prompt arrest of the accused and strict legal action. It remains to be seen what facts emerge during the police investigation and what further steps are taken in this sensational case.
