A 45-year-old man who had recently walked out of prison after serving a seven-year jail sentence was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj district. His body was discovered lying beneath a tree with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The incident, which unfolded around midnight, prompted an immediate response from senior district police officials and forensic specialists who arrived to secure the scene and piece together what happened.
Midnight Incident at Brahman Nagla Village
The incident occurred in Brahman Nagla village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Chhibramau Kotwali police station. Authorities identified the deceased as 45-year-old Rajkishore Dubey. According to details shared by police officials on Friday, family members were alerted by a loud noise late on Thursday night. Upon rushing outside to check, they found Dubey lying in a pool of blood under a tree. While inspecting the crime scene, investigating teams recovered two cartridges of.315 bore ammunition, which were promptly seized as evidence.
Senior Police Officers and Forensic Investigators Inspect Site
Upon receiving word of the incident, Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar, along with Chhibramau Circle Officer Mayank Mishra and Kotwali police station in-charge Kapil Dubey, reached the location to supervise initial findings. A forensic squad was dispatched to collect fingerprint impressions, ballistic residues, and other critical physical evidence. Family members recounted to police that Rajkishore Dubey had been convicted under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code for attempted murder and handed a seven-year prison term. Approximately eight years earlier, Dubey, who remained unmarried, had shot at an individual while in an intoxicated state. Having served his entire seven-year sentence behind bars, he walked out of jail roughly one and a half months ago and moved in with his sister's household in Kannauj.

Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar said, "The cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem."
