Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the three-day international summit Tech Sangam, focusing on cutting-edge subjects like artificial intelligence, cyber forensics, quantum technology, and data protection. Alongside emphasizing the critical need for human judgment amid the rapid rise of AI, he also recounted the background of the land where the event was being hosted. He detailed how the property intended for the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences was illegally seized by a land mafia before his administration successfully recovered it.
Human Judgment Above Artificial Intelligence
During his address, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath noted that while AI can assist in swift decision-making, it must never replace human discernment. He stressed that technological tools should remain under human command and that relying entirely on automated systems could invite future crises. Making technology secure, reliable, and beneficial for the public requires unified collaborative efforts across various sectors.
Emerging Digital Challenges and Quantum Potential
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that while technological advancements open up new horizons for problem-solving, they simultaneously introduce severe threats. Issues such as deepfakes, financial fraud, identity theft, and the authenticity of digital evidence pose serious concerns today. To address these vulnerabilities, the central government has initiated targeted efforts in artificial intelligence and quantum technology under a mission mode. These initiatives aim to foster domestic capabilities, expand computing infrastructure, and establish a secure ecosystem.
Past State of Lawlessness and Land Grab
Reflecting on the situation from a decade ago, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remarked that discussing such advanced technological topics in Uttar Pradesh would have seemed like an impossible dream back then. The approximately 100-acre plot near the Lucknow International Airport, originally designated for the police department, had fallen victim to brazen manipulation. Despite belonging to the state authorities, a prominent local land mafia managed to get the property registered under his own name while the civil administration remained silent. He noted that the Director General of Police first brought this illegal takeover to his attention, seeking proper administrative direction.
Legal Action and Subsequent Surrender
Upon reviewing the official documents, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered a formal inquiry into the officials responsible for the fraudulent transfer. Once the department acknowledged the error, he directed authorities to register a First Information Report. When the accused individual approached the High Court for relief, an additional case was filed, prompting the suspect to surrender unconditionally and plead to return the property. This decisive legal intervention liberated the plot from unlawful control, enabling the establishment of the prominent institution that now hosts global technology summits.
Meanwhile, the state administration continues to take administrative steps across various regions, including the renaming of Kasari-Masari in Prayagraj to Shrikrishnapuri, which has garnered diverse reactions from political figures.
