Disturbing CCTV footage has emerged from the Suchetapuri locality in Ghaziabad's Modinagar area, showing an elderly man being brutally beaten inside his own home after his entire family was held hostage. On June 30, two men allegedly forced their way into the house, shoved a pistol into the father's mouth, physically assaulted him, and demanded money from the terrified family. The victim's daughter, Sakshi Thakur, has since filed a formal written complaint with the officer-in-charge at Modinagar police station, calling for stringent legal action against the accused.
Accused Barged In and Took the Entire Family Captive
According to the complaint filed by Sakshi Thakur, Sachin Jindal and Sharad Jindal, both residents of the same Suchetapuri locality, forcibly entered the family's home on June 30. The two men barged in while verbally abusing the family and immediately held all three members, Sakshi herself, her mother Radha Devi, and her elderly father Krishnveer, captive inside the house.
What followed was deeply alarming. The accused shoved a pistol into Krishnveer's mouth, an act the family describes as a clear attempt on his life. They then beat the elderly man severely and pressed the family to hand over money by force. The family ultimately managed to break free and escape from the situation.
CCTV Footage Captures the Assault, Police Begin Investigation
The attack did not go unrecorded. CCTV cameras captured the entire incident, with footage clearly showing the accused beating Krishnveer. This visual evidence is expected to play a key role in the investigation. Sakshi Thakur has submitted her written complaint to the officer-in-charge at Modinagar police station, demanding that the accused face the full weight of the law. Police are currently examining both the written complaint and the CCTV footage as part of their investigation into the case.
Firing Outside a Builder's Office Just Ten Days Before This Attack
The assault on Krishnveer's family is the latest in a series of alarming crimes to hit Ghaziabad. On June 20, unknown miscreants opened fire outside a local builder's office late at night in the Khoda police station area. That incident was also captured on CCTV cameras.
No one was injured in that shooting, and the prevailing assessment was that the attackers fired to intimidate the builder rather than to directly harm anyone. Even so, the brazen gunfire in a built-up area sent shockwaves through the locality and raised immediate questions about the state of law and order in the city. Residents could not understand how criminals had grown so emboldened as to open fire openly without apparent fear of consequences.
With incidents like the June 20 shooting and the June 30 hostage assault occurring within days of each other, public frustration in Ghaziabad is running high. Residents are questioning why criminals appear to have lost their fear of law enforcement and what concrete steps are being taken to restore a sense of safety and order across the area.
