The Sambhal district administration in Uttar Pradesh has initiated steps against structural violations by identifying 36 commercial and residential properties for official notices. These identified structures, comprising houses and shops, were reportedly constructed without complying with the norms laid down under the Sambhal Master Plan 2031. The administrative action follows an intensive field survey conducted in the vicinity of the Shahi Jama Masjid. Official verification revealed that the building layouts for these properties were never submitted or sanctioned by the regulatory authorities, leading the administration to commence notice issuance procedures under established municipal guidelines.
Master Plan 2031 Inspection and Compliance Findings
The field inspection was executed following explicit directions from the District Magistrate to enforce urban planning rules effectively. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vikas Chandra stated that administrative teams surveyed the residential and commercial pockets situated directly behind the disputed Shahi Jama Masjid area. During the comprehensive physical verification drive within the designated Regulated Area, inspectors pinpointed 36 separate properties operating without valid layout approvals. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vikas Chandra highlighted that compliance with the Sambhal Master Plan 2031 remains mandatory for all construction within these regulated limits, prompting the decision to issue formal show-cause notices to all defaulting owners.
Defense Opportunity for Property Owners
Addressing concerns regarding the procedure, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vikas Chandra affirmed that the regulatory enforcement process will follow due course of natural justice. Each property owner slated to receive a notice will be granted a full opportunity to present their side of the case along with valid structural permits. If an owner successfully demonstrates that the building adheres to official guidelines or holds appropriate map approvals, no penal action will be taken against the property. Conversely, strict administrative and legal enforcement will follow for structures that fail to produce authorized layout plans or are proven to be in clear violation of existing municipal norms.
Enforcement from Chaudhry Sarai to Tandon Crossing and Clearance of Encroachments
The ongoing regulatory drive is currently focused along the key commercial corridor extending from Chaudhry Sarai to Tandon Crossing. Officials indicated that while this specific stretch forms the initial phase of enforcement, the scope of inspections will subsequently expand to cover remaining municipal sectors across Sambhal. Furthermore, inspectors documented extensive public road encroachments during their field survey. Shopkeepers and occupants along market thoroughfares had illegally extended their premises, significantly reducing effective street width and causing traffic bottlenecks. The administration confirmed that along with building map compliance, all unauthorized market road encroachments will be removed to restore intended street capacity.
