CM Yogi Adityanath Visits Ayodhya Amid Donation Controversy
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Ayodhya on Friday against the backdrop of an ongoing controversy involving the alleged embezzlement of temple donations. During his visit, the Chief Minister offered prayers to Ram Lalla and reviewed the overall administrative and security arrangements at the temple complex. He sent a strong signal that anyone found guilty of wrongdoing in the donation scam would face strict action and would not be spared.
A Secret Offering in the Donation Box
After completing his prayers, Yogi Adityanath pulled a sealed envelope from his pocket and respectfully dropped it into the Ram Janmabhoomi donation box. While this act is being viewed as a deep gesture of personal faith and devotion, the exact amount of money enclosed inside the envelope remains undisclosed in official records.
Champat Rai Stays Away as Dinendra Das Guides the CM
During his visit, the Chief Minister noticeably maintained his distance from the temple trust officials currently under the scanner of the ongoing investigation. Champat Rai remained completely absent from the CM's scheduled itinerary, staying at Karsevakpuram, which is located about 4 km away from the Ram Janmabhoomi site. Prior to the CM's arrival, the district administration had formally requested the Ram Mandir Trust to nominate a representative to assist the Chief Minister. Trust member Dinendra Das was selected for this duty, and he guided Yogi Adityanath through the temple premises while explaining the current management systems.
VIP Access and the Ongoing SIT Investigation
The Chief Minister was accompanied during his visit by several political figures, including Minister-in-charge Surya Pratap Shahi, local MLA Abhay Singh, and Ayodhya Mayor Girish Tripathi. Together, they inspected the facilities and paid their respects. The alleged irregularities in the temple's donation box are currently being probed by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). According to TrendKia, an individual named Tinnu Yadav revealed 2 names during interrogation, one of whom reportedly had access to VIP passes despite not holding any official designation within the trust. Adhering strictly to protocol, the Chief Minister completed his visit and departed for his next scheduled events immediately after the rituals.
