Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a sharp political attack on the Congress and the Samajwadi Party during an address at a public event in Kanpur. Without directly naming Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, he used the veiled references Chote Miyan and Badi Miyan to target both leaders, stating that there are currently two 'Miyans' in the country who share a deep affection for infiltrators. The Chief Minister made these remarks after offering prayers at the Maharshi Valmiki Ashram in Bithoor and subsequently inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 411 crore at the Nana Rao Peshwa Park.
Accusations of Obstructing Development Work
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister criticized the governance records of opposition parties, noting that Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya in a Pushpak Vimana after achieving victory over Lanka. He remarked that for thousands of years following Lord Rama's arrival, the only access route to Ayodhya was a broken road, with electricity and basic amenities entirely absent while filth prevailed. He alleged that living in squalor, engaging in corrupt practices, and carrying out loot in darkness are part of the cultural traits inherited by the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, and they replicated the same approach in Ayodhya by denying electricity and withholding development. When the Bharatiya Janata Party government subsequently formulated an action plan to develop Ayodhya, these parties allegedly began creating hurdles.
Transformation of Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Ayodhya
Praising the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister highlighted that the Kashi Vishwanath Dham has undergone a complete transformation. He noted that prior to 2017, barely 20 devotees could offer prayers simultaneously, whereas today twenty thousand devotees can do so at the same time. Kashi has been illuminated and transformed into a fresh new avatar due to the sweeping changes initiated by the Prime Minister. Similarly, Ayodhya has been revitalized, and alongside the construction of the grand Ram Temple, the city is being steered back toward the glory of the Treta Yuga.
Development of Religious Sites and Security Measures
Outlining the government's upcoming initiatives, the Chief Minister stated that Mathura and Vrindavan are being redeveloped into magnificent forms, Prayagraj is hosting a grand Mahakumbh, and projects involving the Vindhyavasini Corridor, Shukateerth, Naimisharanya, and Bithoor are progressing rapidly. Additionally, the government has decided that approximately 4,000 sites across the state associated with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Sadguru Ravidas Maharaj, and Maharshi Valmiki will be enclosed with boundary walls. Where roofing is absent, canopies will be installed to provide shelter, accompanied by robust security arrangements and comprehensive beautification work set to commence shortly.
Allegations of Patronizing Rioters and Infiltrators
Criticizing the conduct of opposition leaders, the Chief Minister asserted that those who associate with rioters, foster anarchy, and make loot in darkness a way of life, treating the entire state as their private family, can never bring about development. He reiterated that the country currently has two figures he termed Chote Miyan and Badi Miyan, who harbor a strong affection for Bangladeshi infiltrators, embracing them while insulting Dalits, the underprivileged, the poor, hardworking farmers, and the youth.
Recalling Past Incidents and Previous Governance
Recalling the tenure of previous administrations, the Chief Minister stated that both the Samajwadi Party and the Congress received ample opportunities to govern the state for extended periods, during which farmers were forced to commit suicide and the poor faced starvation. Youths were denied employment, and whenever job vacancies arose, their rights were plundered. He claimed that the Samajwadi Party itself posed a threat to women's safety, with party thugs encroaching upon the lands of traders and the poor while honoring rioters at the Chief Minister's official residence.
Mention of Kosi Kalan and Jawahar Bagh Riots
Referring to past incidents such as the Kosi Kalan riots and the Jawahar Bagh violence in Mathura, the Chief Minister recalled that a leader linked to the Samajwadi Party had illegally occupied hundreds of acres of parkland and carried out construction. When SP Mukul द्विवेदी and Station House Officer Santosh Yadav went to remove the encroachment, those thugs affiliated with the Samajwadi Party brutally murdered both police officers. He questioned the safety of ordinary citizens when law enforcement officers themselves were not secure. He also referenced the Muzaffarnagar riots, noting that western Uttar Pradesh burned for extended periods while people shivered in the bitter cold, and the head of the Samajwadi Party remained fast asleep.
Jibe at Akhilesh Yadav and Political Future
Directly targeting Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister remarked that he had once inherited political power, but a wooden pot does not boil twice on fire. The people of the state have witnessed his track record and voted him out of power. He advised against daydreaming, noting that while political office can be inherited once, wisdom cannot, and acquiring wisdom requires hard work on the ground. Given his past actions, he concluded that future electoral success is out of reach and political acumen was missing to begin with.
