A high-profile domestic dispute involving Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya took a decisive legal turn as law enforcement personnel arrested her husband, Girdhari Lal Sahu, also known as Pappu Girdhari, from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. A dedicated team from the Dehradun police had been tracking his movements following formal complaints, successfully apprehending him after identifying his location across the state border.
Details of the Criminal Complaints
The arrest followed serious allegations brought forward by Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya. In her formal complaint, she detailed persistent domestic trouble, accusing her husband of maintaining relationships with other women, subjecting her to repeated physical assault, hurling casteist slurs, and issuing direct threats to her life. Given the gravity of the accusations, authorities registered an official case and launched an extensive inquiry.
Execution of the Non-Bailable Warrant
As the legal process unfolded, a court issued a non-bailable warrant against the accused. Authorities had heightened scrutiny amid concerns that he might seek refuge outside the state to evade legal proceedings. Utilizing surveillance and intelligence inputs, police units tracked his trail to Jhansi, where he was apprehended without delay. Officials are now conducting transit procedures to bring him back to Dehradun for further judicial formalities.
