A 51-foot bronze statue of Lord Parshuram installed at the revered Parshuram Kund pilgrimage site in Arunachal Pradesh is scheduled to be unveiled on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti next year. Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein announced the timeline following a review meeting dedicated to assessing infrastructure upgrades at the holy site and overseeing preparations for the grand unveiling ceremony.
Grand Unveiling and Pilgrimage Infrastructure
Sharing details of the development, Chowna Mein wrote on X that construction work on the monumental sculpture is approaching completion, prompting authorities to finalize arrangements for the festive celebration. He emphasized that the state administration remains focused on augmenting visitor amenities, upgrading physical infrastructure, and enriching the overall pilgrim experience while diligently safeguarding the sacred spiritual and cultural heritage of Parshuram Kund.
VIPRA Foundation's Contribution and Outreach
Mein lauded the VIPRA Foundation for donating the bronze statue and supporting its logistical installation at the pilgrimage hub. Over the past two years, the organization has spearheaded the 'Abhinandan Arunachal' roadshow across major metropolitan centres and regional cities to showcase the historical and spiritual legacy of Parshuram Kund, effectively elevating the northeastern site's prominence among devotees nationwide.
Invitation Yatra Journey from Ayodhya
Prior to the Makar Sankranti ceremony, the VIPRA Foundation will lead an outreach campaign titled 'Sri Parshuram Kund Amantran Yatra'. The journey will commence from Ayodhya on December 4 and traverse several regions before culminating in Namsai on December 23. Mein pointed out that this pan-India journey will bridge connections between pilgrims across the country and the shrine, foster broader awareness of the holy destination, and nurture cross-regional cultural integration.
