Addressing an emergency virtual assembly hosted across social media channels, Altaf Hussain asserted that Kashmiri citizens had been conducting peaceful demonstrations for several days to demand their fundamental rights. However, rather than addressing their legitimate grievances, the Pakistani authorities deployed heavy physical force against them. He stated that the blood of Kashmiris is being ruthlessly shed and that Pakistan has crossed all limits of oppression, leaving hundreds killed or wounded across various towns.
The leader detailed specific incidents in Rawalakot, Mirpur, and adjacent urban centers where demonstrations organized under the banner of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) were met with direct gunfire from police and paramilitary personnel. According to his account, casualties lay strewn across public thoroughfares while security forces actively removed several deceased individuals and injured citizens from the scene. Furthermore, he alleged that armed forces seized control of local healthcare facilities, effectively blocking medical treatment for the wounded.

Paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the security action, he extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, declaring that his organization stands firmly with them during this critical period.
Altaf Hussain, who was forced to flee Pakistan in 1992 due to existential threats to his safety and intense state suppression, has been operating from political exile in London ever since. Notably, a video featuring him singing the famous poet Allama Iqbal's composition 'Saare Jahan Se Accha Hindostan Hamara' had previously gained widespread attention across digital platforms.
Critique of 79 Years of Exploitation and Media Censorship
Targeting the Pakistani political establishment and state apparatus, Altaf Hussain questioned the historic governance and rhetoric surrounding the Kashmir issue. He pointed out that over the past 79 years, state institutions and rulers have gathered billions and trillions of dollars from international sources in the name of Kashmir. Citizens were repeatedly misled with political slogans such as 'Kashmir Banega Pakistan'. Yet, when local Kashmiris demand their actual rights, the administration responds with lethal bullets rather than constructive dialogue. He questioned whether shedding Kashmiri blood could ever keep Pakistan united or if public demands could be silenced through military force.
In addition, he highlighted state-sponsored censorship, accusing the Pakistani government of issuing strict instructions to national electronic media channels to suppress coverage of the unfolding unrest, thereby preventing the global community from witnessing the reality on the ground.
Breakdown of Talks, Mass Mobilization, and Escalating Casualties
The widespread unrest in the region escalated after negotiations between the administration and leaders of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) collapsed. The JAAC had issued a strict deadline to the government, demanding official orders fulfilling their claims by 1:00 PM on July 27. The organization warned that failure to issue formal government orders would prompt thousands of demonstrators to initiate a massive protest march from Rawalakot to Muzaffarabad.
Following the breakdown of dialogue, thousands of citizens gathered in Rawalakot and began their long march toward Muzaffarabad, prompting Pakistani security forces to initiate heavy gunfire on the crowd. According to reports released by the JAAC, the ongoing unrest and subsequent state action between June 5 and July 28 resulted in the death toll rising to 67 individuals.
