Bageshwar Dham Mandal Mobilizes Emergency Relief Operations
Addressing the rapidly worsening situation in Nepal, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri appealed to members of the Bageshwar Dham Mandal present in Nepal to immediately jump into rescue and relief operations. He emphasized that delivering essential food packages, clean drinking water, emergency medical supplies, and basic necessities to displaced victims must remain the primary focus. Shastri also revealed that dedicated teams of volunteers from Bageshwar Dham in India are travelling to Nepal to reinforce ground operations. He asserted that serving humanity is the ultimate duty during such tragic times, reassuring that the entire Bageshwar family stands fully committed to assisting flood victims.
India Dispatches Military Aircraft with Second Consignment of Disaster Aid
In response to the severe emergency in Nepal, the Government of India has ramped up its humanitarian assistance mechanism to support its neighboring nation. On Thursday, an Indian military transport aircraft delivered the second consignment of relief supplies to Nepal. This follows the dispatch of 10 tonnes of HADR (Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief) materials on Wednesday. Pandit Dhirendra Shastri prayed for the swift success of joint search, rescue, and relief operations being carried out by the governments of India and Nepal, expressing hope that coordinated state measures will quickly alleviate the suffering of stranded people.
Devastating Toll Along Nepal-Tibet Border as Over 800 Remain Missing
The calamity unfolded on Wednesday following sudden and violent flash floods near the Nepal-Tibet border region, causing severe destruction across multiple sectors. According to official figures released by Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), the casualty toll has climbed to 165. The NDRRMA confirmed in its official statement that 826 individuals remain missing since the border floods struck, a figure that includes approximately 580 stranded tourists. Reiterating that Nepal is undergoing an extraordinarily painful period, Shastri urged people everywhere to extend all possible support to aid the victims.
