A day after the unfortunate mishap, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma traveled to the location on Monday accompanied by top administrative and police personnel to evaluate the situation firsthand. While interacting with journalists at the spot, he formally announced the monetary relief for the legal heirs of those who perished.
Sarma stated, It is a heartbreaking and tragic road accident.
The Chief Minister noted that local inhabitants had strongly blamed deep potholes and poor upkeep of the national highway for triggering the smash, and subsequent police inquiries have pointed toward the identical underlying factor.

Preliminary findings indicate that the transport was journeying toward Guwahati originating from Nagaon when a tire ruptured after slamming violently into a massive crater on the asphalt. The automobile reportedly veered out of the driver control, breached the central median divider, and smashed straight into the approaching truck.
All injured citizens were swiftly rescued from the wreckage and rushed to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for specialized medical intervention.
