A high-ranking police official attached to the executive machinery in Assam has been found dead under mysterious circumstances. The body of Khargeswar Rabha, who served as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in the Chief Minister's Vigilance Cell, was recovered from a hotel room located in Bongaigaon on Thursday.
Partially Decomposed Body Found in Hotel Room
According to details that have emerged from the investigation, Rabha's remains were discovered inside Room No. 102 of Hotel Jahnavi Regency. The body was reportedly in a partially decomposed state when authorities gained entry, raising immediate concerns and numerous questions regarding the sequence of events that led up to this grim discovery.
Timeline and Room Booking Details Under Scrutiny
Initial information indicates that the specific room where the body was located had been booked by the officer's brother on October 18. However, the precise events, movements, and timeline connecting that booking date to the eventual recovery of the body remain entirely unclear, leaving investigators with a significant gap to piece together.
Investigation Ongoing Into Unexplained Death
While local officials have confirmed the recovery of the body from the premises, detailed circumstances surrounding the officer's death were not immediately made available to the public. The exact cause of death has not yet been established by medical or forensic authorities, and officials stated that further information is awaited to determine what transpired prior to the discovery. The unexplained nature of the incident, particularly the interval between the room reservation and the finding of the remains, continues to draw intense focus as investigators await complete reports.
