A fresh chapter of wilderness travel is launching across Assam as the annual monsoon period draws to a close. Forestry authorities across the state have geared up to usher holidaymakers back into the region's dense woodlands, floodplains, and grassland ecosystems. Following routine seasonal closures, access to the state's renowned conservation areas is being restored in a phased rollout across the first fortnight of October.
Reopening Timeline Across Major Reserves
Details shared through an official social media announcement from the Chief Minister's Office outline specific dates for the commencement of visitor access. Public entry into Manas National Park begins on October 2, followed immediately by Kaziranga National Park on October 3. A few days later, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary will join the operational circuit by opening its entry gates on October 13.
Official Preparations and Global Invitation
Extending a warm welcome to nature travellers, Assam Environment and Forest Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah wrote on X, "With the monsoon giving way to a new tourism season, Assam is ready to welcome visitors back to some of its most iconic wildlife destinations." He called upon wildlife enthusiasts and travelers from across India as well as overseas to witness the natural landscape firsthand.
Ground personnel from the Forest Department have been carrying out thorough ground assessments and route maintenance to guarantee smooth operations for incoming vacationers. The resumption of park visits is set to revitalize eco-tourism opportunities and allow sightseers to discover the territory's rich natural heritage.
