Aprilia India has officially announced the pricing structure for its refreshed maxi-scooter lineup under the updated SXR GT range. The entry-level SXR GT 125 hp-e carries an introductory price tag of Rs 1,09,999, while the higher-displacement SXR GT 175 hp-e comes in at Rs 1,29,999. Both price figures represent ex-showroom rates applicable in Maharashtra. Pre-orders for these new offerings were formally initiated by the manufacturer earlier in the month.
Refined Powertrain Hardware and Output Figures
Built to handle city commutes as well as highway journeys, the updated models emphasize improved throttle responsiveness and prompt acceleration. Compliance with BS6 OBD-2 Stage B emission norms comes standard across the range, alongside complete compatibility with E20 fuel blends.
Under the skin, the flagship SXR GT 175 utilizes a 174.7 cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine capable of delivering 9.76 kW, roughly 13.09 bhp, at 7,200 rpm, alongside 14.14 Nm of torque peaking at 6,000 rpm. Meanwhile, the smaller SXR GT 125 relies on a 124.45 cc engine that generates 7.8 kW, approximately 10.46 bhp, at 7,400 rpm and 10.4 Nm of torque at 6,200 rpm. Shared mechanical attributes between both engines include single overhead camshaft construction, three valves per cylinder, and electronic fuel injection delivery.
Feature Distribution and Component Differences
A price gap of Rs 20,000 separates the two variants, accompanied by several key hardware distinctions. Riders opting for the SXR GT 175 receive a modern 5-inch TFT instrument cluster alongside a single-channel ABS setup. In contrast, the SXR GT 125 is fitted with a 5-inch LCD cluster and utilizes a combined braking system. The foundational stopping equipment remains identical, comprising a 220 mm disc brake on the front wheel paired with a 140 mm drum assembly at the rear.
Chassis Updates and Styling Elements
A central update to the platform involves the transition from the previous 12-inch wheels to larger 14-inch units, intended to bolster road stability and cruising composure. The suspension package pairs front telescopic forks with a five-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the rear.
Visual cues retain the imposing maxi-scooter stance, featuring a broad front fairing, a prominent tall windscreen, and three-piece LED headlight architecture. Buyers can choose from three distinct color schemes for each model. The SXR GT 125 comes finished in Matte Black, Glossy Azzurro, or Glossy White, whereas the SXR GT 175 is offered in Metallic Blue, Matte Black, and Matte Green.
