Indian boxing icon M C Mary Kom has taken delivery of a brand new Toyota Hilux, adding a rugged and powerful pickup truck to her personal garage. Known for its tough build and adventurous appeal, the vehicle reached her collection shortly after the automaker rolled out its latest generation in the country. Toyota had officially introduced the 9th generation Hilux in India on July 28, 2026, with an initial starting ex-showroom price of Rs 31.99 lakh.

According to the company, deliveries for the new Hilux officially kicked off in the second week of August. Mary Kom purchasing the pickup highlights the growing celebrity interest in rugged utility vehicles. The updated model boasts a more modern aesthetic, a premium cabin layout, superior technology, and enhanced off-roading capabilities compared to its predecessors.

M C Mary Kom remains one of the most successful female boxers in Indian sports history. Hailing from Manipur, she has brought immense pride to the nation on global platforms. She stands as the only female boxer to capture the World Amateur Boxing Championship title six times and earned a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics. The revised Hilux features a much sharper and more upscale design language. It comes equipped with a prominent front grille, LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, a muscular bumper, and fresh alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin feels considerably more advanced, featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 7-inch combination meter, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Toyota i-Connect, and an 8-speaker audio setup.

Under the hood, the vehicle houses a 2.8-liter BS6 Phase 2 diesel engine that churns out 204 PS of power alongside 500 Nm of torque. This motor is paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Buyers can choose between 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrain configurations, with the 4x4 variant offering specialized features such as H4 and L4 ranges, an electronic differential lock, and downhill assist control.
