Ahead of its scheduled market launch on September 25, Tata Motors has released an official teaser highlighting the interior of the all-new Aeris compact sedan. Positioned to take over from the Tigor, this upcoming model aims to refresh the carmaker's presence in the competitive entry-level sedan segment. Visual previews reveal a dashboard layout closely aligned with the recently introduced Tiago hatchback, differentiated by a cabin theme finished in understated beige and grey hues.
Dashboard Layout and Central Console Details
The interior architecture places modern functionality at the forefront with a free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit perched directly above twin central air-conditioning vents. Located underneath the screen is a dedicated strip of tactile physical buttons, followed by a gloss-black climate control panel. This section incorporates dual rotary dials along with prominent ‘Aeris’ model lettering. A textured horizontal trim element neatly segments the upper and lower sections of the dashboard. The dual-tone beige treatment extends across the seat upholstery and adjustable front headrests, accompanied by a front centre armrest for added occupant comfort.
Steering Assembly, Digital Cockpit, and Controls
Facing the driver is a contemporary two-spoke multifunction steering wheel coupled with a fully digital instrument cluster that displays vital vehicular telemetry. The central console showcases a rotary gear selector knob, indicating the presence of an automated manual transmission variant. To grant drivers direct manual override and greater driving engagement, steering-mounted paddle shifters are integrated into the setup.
360-Degree Vision System With Integrated Dashcam Functionality
One of the primary technological highlights showcased in the preview is an advanced multi-angle camera configuration. The primary infotainment monitor simultaneously presents feeds from front, rear, left, and right external cameras. Beyond its standard role as a parking aid, this system doubles as an onboard dashcam, continuously recording driving surroundings and securely saving footage during critical road incidents. This tech feature builds upon driver-assist systems already seen in selected stablemates across the brand's contemporary product portfolio, and it is anticipated to support a blind view monitoring capability as well.
Cabin Amenities, Practicality, and Powertrain Specifications
Thanks to component sharing with the Tiago platform, the Aeris is expected to offer a comprehensive equipment list including a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a Harman premium sound system, a wireless smartphone charging dock, USB Type-C connectivity sockets, automatic climate control, and rear passenger air-conditioning vents. Being a three-box sedan, the car provides significantly more cargo volume than its hatchback counterpart. In the dual-cylinder CNG trim, luggage capacity may see a minor reduction due to tank packaging beneath the floor. Under the bonnet, propulsion will come from a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with both manual and AMT gearboxes. The CNG powertrain option is also set to arrive with both MT and AMT choices, preparing the vehicle to battle established rivals such as the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, and Hyundai Aura.
