Women residing across Haryana may soon witness a significant expansion in state assistance, as the government moves to broaden the reach of the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana. Under this welfare initiative, eligible women receive a monthly cash assistance of Rs 2,100 transferred directly to their financial accounts. To ensure broader coverage among low and middle income households, the state administration is revising key eligibility norms, raising the family income cap so that thousands of additional households can claim these recurring financial benefits.
Raising the Income Ceiling for Wider Coverage
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini recently announced that the administration is actively working to widen the scope of the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana. Previously, the scheme strictly catered to households earning an annual family income of Rs 1 lakh or less. Under the proposed revision, the income threshold will be elevated to Rs 1.80 lakh per year. This adjustment allows families making up to Rs 1.80 lakh annually to qualify as valid beneficiaries, extending financial security to a far larger section of the state population.
Preservation of Existing Social Security Pensions
A major concern among prospective applicant women has been whether enrolling in this scheme would cancel out other benefits they currently receive. The government has explicitly clarified that enrolling in or receiving the monthly Rs 2,100 payout under the Lado Lakshmi scheme will not disqualify any woman from enjoying existing government welfare measures. Chief Minister Saini affirmed that social security pensions and other state aid will continue uninterrupted alongside the new scheme, ensuring complete financial protection for eligible recipients.
Eligibility Criteria and Residency Requirements
To qualify for the Rs 2,100 monthly stipend, applicant women must meet specific age and domicile criteria laid down by the state government
- Age Criterion: Women must be at least 23 years of age or older to submit an application.
- Income Threshold: Total household earnings must not exceed Rs 1.80 lakh annually.
- Residency for Out-of-State Women: Women originally from other states who have moved to Haryana following marriage are eligible if they have resided in Haryana continuously for at least 15 years.
- Family Size Flexibility: The government has confirmed that total family member count will not serve as any barrier to eligibility.
Exclusion List and Prevention of Double Benefits
To prevent duplicate government payouts under overlapping financial assistance schemes, certain categories of individuals remain excluded from the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana
- Beneficiaries already enrolled in the Old Age Samman Allowance scheme.
- Women currently receiving financial aid under widow or destitute support programs.
- Persons benefitting from allowances under the Haryana Divyang Financial Assistance rules.
- Recipients of the Ladli Social Security Allowance scheme.
- Kashmiri migrant families who already draw state financial support.
- Survivors of acid attacks who receive specialized monthly state stipends.
- Recipients of prestigious Padma awards.
