Jewar Toll Plaza Waives Fees For Local Residents, Registration Open Until September 17

Local commuters traveling through the Jewar Toll Plaza on the Yamuna Expressway are getting relief with a new toll waiver for eligible residents.

Travelers residing around the Jewar region along the Yamuna Expressway are receiving significant financial relief as authorities implement a long-awaited toll exemption. Eligible local residents crossing the Jewar Toll Plaza will no longer be required to pay the standard toll fees. This new facility will make daily commutes between Greater Noida and Agra much more affordable for local drivers who frequently use the corridor.

Fourteen Years Of Demands For Toll Exemption

The 165-kilometer Yamuna Expressway connects Greater Noida with Agra, serving as a vital transport route for the region. Farmers, social representatives, and local organizations in the Jewar area had been campaigning for a toll waiver for approximately 14 years. The matter was raised repeatedly with various administrative authorities over the years. According to Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, the decision to grant this relief followed several rounds of detailed discussions with officials from Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority and the operating company.

Three Documents Required For Vehicle Registration

To take advantage of this toll exemption, eligible local citizens must register their vehicles through a formal verification process. Applications can be submitted at the manager office located at the Jewar Toll Plaza until September 17. Residents must provide copies of three mandatory documents during registration, which include a local residence certificate, an Aadhaar card, and the vehicle registration certificate. Once the verification is successfully completed, residents will be cleared for toll-free travel under the new framework.

Standard Toll Rates Vary By Vehicle Category

The Yamuna Expressway enforces different fee structures based on the size and classification of vehicles. At the Jewar Toll Plaza, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and tractors are normally charged 60 rupees, while cars and light motor vehicles pay 120 rupees. Light commercial vehicles are charged 185 rupees, and buses or trucks must pay 380 rupees. Furthermore, multi-axle heavy vehicles incur a fee of 580 rupees, while oversized transports are charged 745 rupees. Eliminating these costs for eligible locals will generate substantial monthly savings for regular commuters.
