Bollywood actors Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff have submitted their official responses to the notice issued by the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA). However, superstar Shah Rukh Khan has not yet issued any reaction regarding this entire controversy, and the regulatory body is still awaiting his official reply. With legal scrutiny tightening around these stars over surrogate promotion of pan masala under the guise of cardamom, all eyes are on when King Khan will clarify his stand.
The Core Issue Behind the FDA Notice
The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration clearly stated in its notice that the Vimal cardamom advertisement is indirectly linked to Vimal pan masala. The regulatory body believes that promoting this brand under the name of cardamom is essentially a method to promote the pan masala brand, which runs counter to regulations. Everyone is keeping a close watch on the subsequent legal actions in this matter.
Promotion of Pan Masala Under Cardamom Branding
The notice issued by the Maharashtra FDA mentioned that at first glance, the advertisement appears to promote the Vimal brand, which is primarily associated with pan masala. Notably, under an order issued by the Commissioner of Food Safety, Maharashtra, on July 13, 2026, the manufacture, storage, sale, and distribution of pan masala has been completely banned in the state for one year. In such a scenario, promoting this brand through cardamom serves as a violation of the FSS Act 2006.
How the Notices Were Served to the Actors
As part of this action, the FDA dispatched notices to all three stars. Ajay Devgn was served at his residence in Juhu, and Shah Rukh Khan received the notice at Mannat, while Tiger Shroff was served through his company Tiger Shroff Productions LLP. Despite the massive controversy and legal grip, none of the three actors have issued any official statement on the issue so far.
