Anticipating a massive surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming festival, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation or NCRTC has decided to ramp up the operations of the Namo Bharat train service. On August 27 and 28, 2026, a total of 47 additional trips will be operated along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. The standout highlight of this special arrangement is that trains will run at an enhanced frequency of every 8 minutes across these two days.
According to NCRTC, a steep rise in commuter volume is anticipated on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. To accommodate this demand, extra services have been scheduled for the two-day period. The benefits of these additional trips will extend to all commuters traveling along the entire Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor. During these dates, the Namo Bharat train will operate between Sarai Kale Khan and Modipuram. With a shortened waiting gap compared to routine days, passengers will spend significantly less time waiting at stations.
