Additionally, it provides a safety net for fish farmers who have experienced financial setbacks, helping them restore profitability in their trade. Under the framework of the project, a unit costing ₹60,000 is eligible for direct state financial aid amounting to ₹25,000.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, the Uttar Pradesh state government provides financial grants covering up to 60 percent of the total project expenditure. The exact subsidy breakdown varies according to the beneficiary category
- General Category: Applicants receive a 40 percent grant relative to the total project cost.
- SC, ST, and Women Beneficiaries: Applicants belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or female fish farmers receive up to a 60 percent grant on the project cost.
