A wave of panic swept through a residential locality in Bihar's Jehanabad district after armed miscreants launched a violent attack on the vehicle of a well-known local artist.
Early Morning Assault
The incident unfolded in the Kali Nagar neighbourhood located under the jurisdiction of the Nagar police station. At around 4:30 in the morning, when most residents were asleep, loud noises of shouting and breaking glass shattered the quiet atmosphere. Unidentified assailants targeted a black Scorpio parked right outside the residence of Bhojpuri singer Abhishek Singh. The attackers discharged four to five rounds of bullets at the vehicle and rained heavy stones upon it, leaving every single window smashed into pieces. Fortunately, nobody was seated inside the automobile at that hour, preventing any tragic loss of life. The perpetrators managed to escape before local residents could intervene.
Rivalry and Direct Allegations
The victim, Abhishek Singh, openly blamed fellow local Bhojpuri singer Shiv Kumar Vikku for orchestrating the assault. He claimed that professional jealousy regarding seniority and popularity had fueled deep animosity between them. According to his statements, threats had previously been issued from open stages warning of a violent attack at his doorstep. He asserted that their ongoing digital and stage-based rivalry over popularity had finally escalated into armed violence. The artist added that law enforcement was immediately notified as soon as the chaos subsided.
Defence and Police Investigation
Meanwhile, the accused singer, Shiv Kumar Vikku, strongly denied any involvement, arguing that accusations should not be leveled without concrete facts or evidence. He maintained that while artists might engage in verbal spats, they express themselves through art rather than weapons. Local police rushed to the scene immediately upon receiving information about the shooting. Officers recovered empty cartridges from the spot and began scanning closed-circuit television camera footage from nearby residential lanes to identify the culprits. Authorities are currently continuing their thorough investigation into the matter.
